HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Officejet Pro 8600 died after a several page print job.  The displayed error message reads:"THERE IS A PRINTER PROBLEM,(genius) or a problem with the ink jet system."  Turn off/on.  If this doesn't fix the problem. Contact HP.  Made the mistake of attempting to Contact HP Support.   Printer is out of warranty, so not much help there. Uploaded and downloaded all requested in on HP Official Web site.  HP Diagnostics and Troubleshooter - Nothing.    It was able to confirm what I could see on the front of my printer: HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a, but, very little else.

Made the mistake thinking the Virtual Assistant might be of some?? help.      I was wrong.  The V.A. was of absolutely no help.   After more than an hour of seeking help from any corner:   HP Print and Scan Mortician,  No help.   The Embedded Web Resource confirmed:   Status:  Device Needs Attention.

Items Needing Attention:  Printer Failure!! (Image my surprise!!)      The Embedded Web Resource confirmed that my printer wasn't working, But failed to offer any suggestion as to what the problem might be.

My mission was simple.   Determine if the manufacturer of the printer HP could tell me  if I need to replace a part, or replace my printer,  as the cost of repair is not warranted.
My suggestion:  replace your displayed error  message that reads:"There is a printer problem, or a problem with the ink jet system."  Turn off/on.  If this doesn't fix the problem. Contact HP,    with   " Your printer has failed and is not worth repairing.   Our apologies and please accept this 20% coupon to replace this printer with a new
HP printer.   Simply copy the code (as your printer does not work) and submit with a copy with your new printer receipt."  Thank you for your continued loyalty.
