Greetings. My 8610's touch screen is completely non-responsive to touch. It will light up when the printer engages or with system messages but not when touched. I've gone through all the suggested troubleshooting steps as listed here with no help. I've figured out how to detach the ribbon cable from the back of the screen and reinsert it but no change nor can I find instructions for removing the screen in order to replace it. Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that the printer touch screen is not responding. I will be a delight to assist you here.
Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂 Kudos to you on that score.:)
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- When did this issue start?
- Did you try doing hard reset and firmware update on the printer?
If not, follow the below steps:
Perform a power reset
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Update the printer firmware
Refer this HP Document to update the printer firmware:- https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
