My printer does not print Gmail emails or web pages. It prints files fine and scans fine. When attempting to print an email or web page I receive the following message: Your printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem. 0x8007007e
This is something that has happened in the last month or so. I have uninstalled the printer and reinstalled the most recent drivers available from HP. I also installed the Print & Scan Doctor, however, when it is communicating to the printer the progress bar stops almost at the end and the program hangs up. I then have to use task manager to end the task. The printer is directly connected to my laptop via a USB cable. Any words of wisdom are welcomed.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Betty0610,
Thank you so much for getting back to me. Unfortunately, I still have the same issue.
I followed the step-by-step instructions with one exception. When I got to step 11 "Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties window", this was not displayed in the message box, so I closed it and continued to step 12.
After restarting and downloading the drivers I proceeded to install the software. At or near the end of installation there was a button to click to continue the process online. I then received a message box saying that no Internet connection was detected (my connection was clearly shown at the bottom right corner of my display). There were two buttons - Exit and Try Again. I tried again several times with the same result. The message box had instructions to copy a link to my browser to finish installation later. The link was "http://www.hp.com/ePrint/OJPro8610" and this simply took me to a web page to download the latest printer drivers which I had already done. I then attempted to print an email and received the same message about an unexpected configuration problem and the same error code "0x8007007e". A file from my hard drive printed out fine.
Although this recent problem is a bit of a nuisance, I'm not totally dead in the water. I can copy and paste into Word and then print out the email or web page.
My best,
Mike

I used Google Chrome this time repeating all the original steps you gave me. A number of strange things this time.
Steps 5 and 9, the HP printer was not listed there and neither was the HP printer driver. Anyway I downloaded the software and began installing the software. Instead of the message to continue over the Internet, I got a message instructing me to reboot for the settings to take effect. After rebooting the installation did not continue so I tried installing the software again. When I got to the screen asking how I would connect the printer I selected USB cable. The next screen didn't appear to recognize that the cable was plugged in and had the options of going back or skipping that screen and connecting the printer later. I skipped the screen and the next one said installation was complete.
Long story short........Using Chrome I opened Gmail and tried printing and it worked. So the suggestion of trying a different browse seemed to do the trick.
Thanks so much.
Mike
