The screen on my printer (HP OfficeJet Pro 8630) displays "Printer Failure. There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP." I have tried turning the printer off, unplugging the printer, and restarting, however, I am still receiving the same error. Looking for any other troubleshooting recommendations or assistance. Thank you.

Hi @MDMomster ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already tried some basic troubleshooting steps, but let's see if we can narrow down the issue further. Here are a few additional steps you can try:
- Check for any visible issues: Open the printer cover and check for any visible obstructions, such as torn paper or foreign objects. Also, ensure that the ink cartridges are properly seated and not damaged.
- Reset the printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve issues. Try turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Update firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually do this through the printer's settings menu or by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest firmware for your specific printer model. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check ink levels: If possible, check the ink levels on your printer to ensure that none of the cartridges are empty or low. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.
- Clean printhead: If you're comfortable doing so, you can try cleaning the printhead. Many printers have a built-in printhead cleaning function accessible through the printer's settings menu. Follow the instructions provided by your printer's manual for printhead cleaning.
