Printer powers up but none of the function keys work nor is it recognized on the wireless router. I am running Win7 ... is there a fix or has this printer bitten the big one?

Hi @MarinWebPro,
Welcome to HP Forums,
this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
As I understand you are having some issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro L7780 printer. Don't worry we'll work together to resolve this concern,
Let's start off by performing a hard reset on the printer and do make sure the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet.
* With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
* Remove USB cable, if present.
* Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
* Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
* Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Next thing, I would suggest you try and make a “photocopy” to determine whether the issue is with the printer or not. Place a document on the scanner glass and choose “Copy” option. If the printer is making a good copy, then the printer hardware is fine.

Hi, and thank you for responding to my issue ... I followed your instructions but to no avail, I still couldn't get any of the function keys on printer to work. I was, however, able to establish a USB connection to my desktop and print. I then proceeded to update the firmware, per the link that you provided, here again, to no avail. I still unable to get the function keys to work, nor is my wireless router detecting the printer.
I have reconnected the printer to my desktop via the USB cable so that at least I can print from the desktop. Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the quick response ... I was stopped dead in my tracks at about step 3 ... I have three HP printers, the one that comes up when I go to the folder HP is an 8600 which is working fine on a wireless connection ... I do not see the L7700 in the programs folders. Also checked out the other two links that you sent, one had more or less the same procedure and the other required the use of the control panel on the printer, which, as stated previously, is not responding.
