HP PRINTER not printing selected page range. Example: Request 44-54, but get 37-

New problem: printer not printing selected page range. Example: selected 44-54, but got 37-48....Originally chose 1-50 but got only to 17...then selected 17-50 but got 8-26..and so on. I still have 2 pages to go and so far have 26 extra pages. This is a pdf file.

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that your HP Printer does not print selected page range. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

• Provide the printer model number or the product number?
• How is the printer connected to the computer, USB or wireless?
• Are you getting any error message while printing?

Meanwhile:

Perform hard reset on the printer.

• Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
• Press and hold the power button for 30secs.
• Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.
• Turn on the printer.

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

I since discovered a discrepancy between actual page numbers and article page numbers. The item was a manual in 1/2 page form. This might have confused the printer maybe...did me. Will try again on a different download as it never happened before. Thanks for service. I will still keep in mind that solution for other issues if occur.

Much appreciative of your support steps that you recommended.   I have tried and retried. I consulted the HP Manual for further info, info that was understandable.  After following several sets of steps I realized that my wife's dear printer, which she really likes because it is simple, is headed to the electronic recycling center.   So thanks.   No matter how clear the fix directions when something is dead it can't be revived.

I tried the restart as suggested, but, no. It did not work. I have tried hpsmartprint, hpplugin, hpremote....nothing! It starts pretty much where it wants and always stops midway on about eight page to "check printer" and does not resume. Again, always states "hp plug in is not turned on", but it is. If I choose "skip", it prints, but result is the same. I have wasted much expensive ink and far too much paper. Also, as usual, the notifications remain forever unless I shut down the phone completely. If I open the notification, it state's that no job is printing. This is very frustrating and expensive. Is there a way to turn off the checking printer?

More..I selected print pages 8-75, but the notification states running pages 17-68...definitely a problem, and yet it ran 1-15 1/2

Found that printer does not recognize pages numbered i-viii, so I add 8 to the number it is to start...but it consistantly prints 7 1/2 pages and quits. It does not resume, so to print 75 pages, I have to restart process each time adding 8 to the last full page printed!!! I am printing double sided long edge pages successfully, just not enough of them. The other problems with the notification icons and messages about "HP plug in" continue, but at least they are just annoying.
