Hi.

Printer has stopped printing anymore since the lid opens, but the printer seems that can not detect when it's lifted or not. Then an error message appears on the screen:

Warning exclamation mark: Clear Output Bin Area

Remove paper and other material from the output bin and output door area.

Once done, touch OK.

There is no paper jam anywhere. Paper tray has levers adjusted as always. Tried all system assistant to troubleshoot the issue.

What is happening to this printer?

You will need to change the sensor that comes with the door. I do not make assumptions about difficulty as user skill on a site like this ranges from non-existent to Grade A technician.

There are two possible causes that I can suggest:

On some units the door gets warped and hangs up, resulting in the error. Can you push the door closed and if yes does the unit then come to ready? If yes, then the door is the problem.

It is also possible that the door sensor has failed.

The good news is both parts are in one kit D3Q24-67004

Hi Trooper.

Thanks for your answer.

In fact, we already checked this test, but we didn't post ¬.¬'

When a printing job is sent, the door opens pretty fine, as usual. No creepy noises nor malfunction. This is then when the message appears on the screen saying that something's is avoiding the door to open when it really is not.

We can push the door closed and there it stays. Nothing else happens until we cancel the pending job.

After that, we send another print and back again with open lid and error message.

As you have well said, it seems to be a sensor matter.

Do you think if we change the whole door will solve the problem? Is it only an HP pro technician able to change?

Thank you for your advice.
