Just got of the phone with the Belgian HP Support Center after I had spend +/-2h following all kinds of support guidelines online to get me out of trouble with my newly bought printer.

The printer has been working fine for a month or so but today I got a blue screen with the following error: B8BC1B58

I tried a lot of things including this one: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-5600-All-in-One-Printer-series/441142/model/441143...

I tried aligning printhead, clean ups and more of other guidelines given on the internet and this support forum but all without success.

I ended up calling the Support Desk in Belgium to get hands on support, explaining the issues I have. They asked me to copy something directly and things worked out fine. While being on the line I tried direct IP printing and that seemed to work for me.

Airprint is printing blank pages.

ePrint from HP is giving me blue screen with the following code: B8BE7100

Google Print is giving me blue screen with the following code: B8BC1B58

I am on the road a lot and do need/use web printing a lot as this helps me to get my work done. That's also why I bought this printer as a replacement of an old HP web pritner I had for a couple of years.

The Belgian Support office mentioned to me that they can not send somebody over as the direct IP printing works and redirected me to hpconnected.com with a notion: "we can not help you further". I explained that I was not happy and even felt so left in the dark that I also tweeted: https://twitter.com/JurgenLACoach/status/982217766072549376

Now this is my last hope to get things sorted out and find a solution to my problem as I don't know how to get across anymore. This is not the service I expected for buying a reasonably expensive printer package.

What should I do to get this solved somehow? I'm not that much of an IT noob and really tried a lot of things already but I'm out of idea's and the phone support is not helping at all.

Thanks for helping out.

@JurgenDeSmet

I personally have not run across anything like this but perhaps a bit more information might help the community find a solution.

The firmware is current so that is good.  B8xxxxxx errors are simply memory asserts.  They really don't tell us too much other than something went wrong with in memory management.  This is typically due to something with in a print job not formatted as expected and the printer essentially crashes while processing.

The one thing that ePrint, Google Cloud Print and AirPrint have in common is that they are all sending PDFs to the printer.

For confirmation/clarification:

1. The error only occurs when using a cloud service like ePrint or Google Cloud.

2. When you tried AirPrint and got only blank pages, was that connected over on the local network (I am guessing yes but never assume).

3. The same file prints fine using the HP driver over IP.

When you refernec ePrint, is that the printer's email address that was set up through HP Connected?  someprintername@hpeprint.com

Did this just start happening?  Sometimes there are "hiccups" in the web print system and these things clear in a day or so.

Does everything you print generate the error?  Email, web pages, word docs, PDFs, etc?  Or is it only certain documents or document types that are affected?

Does this only occur from your macOS PC or do you have issues with iOS, Android or ChromeOS as well?

While I may work for HP Inc, the views and opinions expressed here are my own.
