Often when I press the power button on the front of my HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dw in order to switch it off, I just get the "Shutting down ..." message with the accompanying progress circle twirling away ... forever. It just sits there and doesn't shut down no matter how long I leave it for. I tried long pressing the power button to force it to shutdown but it has no effect. The only solution is to unplug the printer. Next time I switch the printer on, it has the cheek to complain that it wasn't shutdown properly!
Why does it behave like this? It seems very buggy.
Regards,
Keir

I have the same problem. I see we have the usual HP crickets response. I wish I never bought HP. This product has too many issues for it's price and the customer service is quite lacking. I DON'T WANT TO BECOME A PRINTER ENGINEER! I JUST WANT TO PRINT MY DOCS AND DO MY WORK!
