After I changed the black ink cartridge on my HP Photosmart 7510 there was a message saying  "Incompatible Printhead".  I saw that you could clean the printhead which I did and I still get the same message even after turning off the printer and unplugging it.  Do I need to order a new printhead?

Welcome to HP Forums,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your printer gives an error message "Incompatible Printhead"

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue: Click here

Step 1: Remove the cartridges and printhead

Step 2: Clean the printhead

Step 3: Reinstall the printhead and cartridges

Step 4: Reset the printer

Step 5: Replace the printhead

Let me know how that pans out

I hope you have a good day ahead,
