I have had a HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-one printer sitting around and tried to use it again. I have a new computer and it wont connect. When I plug the printer in, it wont let me turn it off and the display screen has one star on it, and none of the controls work. The HP screen is blue and wont change. I've tried unplugging it and tried to click buttons but none of them work. I checked for a paper jam and there is none. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @jaquie10
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet
Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
