I just replaced 5 of the 6 ink cartridges in my HP Photosmart C5180 All-in-one printer this morning and even after printing several self-test reports and cleaning the cartridge heads, it still won't print with magenta. I've never had this problem before, and all cartridges were just purchased this week. What am I missing, not doing, should be doing??

The computer I'm using has Windows 7 and when I tried to follow the directions in the first document you listed, there is no HP Solution Center option available, and nothing resembling a solution center. I only have one printer installed. I'm really not that challenged by technology, but this is one problem I'm just not understanding how to correct.

The issue that you have could be an issue related to the printer hardware or the ink cartridge.

 

Have you replaced the magenta recently?

If you have replaced the magenta ink recently and if that's not printing then it could be an issue either with the new cartridge purchased or with the printer.

 

Follow the steps in this document and check if it fixes the issue.

If the problem persists, please contact our HP Support Team using this link for a possible replacement of the ink cartridge or for repair/upgrade options for the printer.
