Hp Photosmart Printer C7280

Error code 0xc18a0106 on Hp Photosmart Printer C7280 -why am I getting this error code when I can still hear ink in the cartridges, also get an outdated cartridges message too. I have done all the standard resets, power off, reset to factory default, disconnected power cord, etc  but nothing clears this message out. Is there a way to bypass the code?

Are you using compatible ink cartridges for the printer?

Check the compatible ink cartridge for your printer from this link.

 

Also, please check if you have followed all the troubleshooting steps mentioned under this document.

If the issue persists after performing the troubleshooting, then it could be an issue with the ink cartridge or with the printer.

 

I would request you to contact our HP Support team for service/replacement options.

I chatted with HP to learn that the cartridges are now listed as HP 02. However, I discovered that the problem was not the remanafactured cartridge but the error code from the previous cartridge had the printer locked up and needed clearing out. I followed the step below and now everything is working fine. 

To my delight I found the solution.

To clear Ink Error Code – 0xc18a0106

 

Fix: To reset counter, turn off power and unplug. Press “#” and “9” buttons and hold them down together for 30 seconds. Still holding the buttons, plug the printer and turn on. Wait for another 30 seconds before releasing. Press the power button and see if the error still occurs.

There are 3 solutions list on this site. The one that worked with my printer is #2.

Please check my Post on how to clear Error Code - 0xc18a010. The code has nothing to do with the new ink cartridges, it is left over code from the old cartridge that didn't clear out when you installed new cartridges. Have a happy day.
