photosmart d110a
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My photosmart d110a always has been working up until yesterday. I tried to print and got a weird error message.

Search this forum and performed several steps: downloaded a new driver, reset the printing system, disconnected and reconnected the printer to my wifi..

The printer is connected to the wifi, but gives an error on the display. See picture.

My Mac and iPhone can find the printer on the network, but both say "the printer is not responding".

Mac and iPhone 11pro are both updated to the latest software version.

Tried to find a way to chat or call with HP, but can only chat with a virtual assistant.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

Thanks for your help!

The trick that eventually did it was: plug the printer from the outlet. Plug my router from outlet. Plug router back in. Then plug printer in.

First, try Easy Start: ( https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-easy-start/7376041      -make sure your OS is correct)
and see if your printer is supported.

If Easy Start does not support your printer or does not solve the issue, try the 5.1 driver package: https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US

Uninstall and reinstall your printer. Still not working? Do these steps next:

Use the HP Uninstaller: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02440673

If you still have a folder marked HP, delete it (likely here: /Library/Printers/hp ).

Make sure the printer is uninstalled in the menu here:
Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners. Then restart your computer.

Then, get this driver package:

https://www8.hp.com/us/en/solutions/business-solutions/printingsolutions/upd.html

Try to then install the printer using the menu here:

Apple Logo (Upper Left of Screen)/System Preferences/Printers & Scanners.

Try to print. That does not work, move on to the next steps.

Download (and install) this package (From HP FTP) which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

If the link comes up blank, try right/control clicking and saving it. Or right/control click and copy link, and paste into browser bar. If you get the malware warning part-way through the installation, go to System Preferences>Security & Privacy where you can tick a box and unblock the HP option.

The install takes a bit. Let it run, even if it seems like it stalled out! When it completes, restart. Try to re install your printer, and print. Success, hopefully? If not, let me know!

Otherwise, please give a thumbs up choose this as the solution!
