Hi @PaulTH,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Warming Up" error message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 typically occurs when there is an issue with the printer's connection to your PC or with the printer's settings. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot.
Check Printer Connection:
- Make sure the printer is properly connected to the network, whether it is via WiFi or Ethernet.
- If using WiFi, ensure that both the printer and your PC are connected to the same network.
Restart the Printer and PC:
- Turn off both the printer and your PC, wait a minute, then power them back on. This can help resolve temporary connection issues.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your PC. You can download the latest drivers from the HP support website.
- If you're using Windows, you can go to Device Manager > Printers > right-click on the printer and select Update Driver.
Clear Print Queue:
- Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to get stuck on "Warming Up."
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click the HP printer > See what's printing and cancel any print jobs in the queue.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Firmware issues can sometimes cause errors. Go to the printer’s control panel and check if there's an option to check for updates, or visit the HP support website to see if there’s a firmware update available for your model.
Printer Reset:
- If none of the above steps work, you may want to try a factory reset of the printer. You can typically find the reset option under Settings > Printer Maintenance or Restore Defaults in the printer menu.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
