Everytime I start HP printer the following error comes up, the exclamations mark and right folder icon constantly flashes.

I think it may be a paper jam as I recall something got stuck months ago but I cannot find any paper jam, opened all avenues and removed paper. Any idea what to do? Cannot use the printer which is a shame, had 3 years warranty offer but failed to register it by deadline so warranty has expired..

Hi @helpimclueless,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with paper jam.

There is a paper jam.

Clear the jam.

Reload the input tray, and then press the Resume button to continue the print job.

For more information, see HP Smart Tank Printers - 'E4' error (Paper Jam).

If there is any carriage jam or error E3,

The printhead carriage has stalled.

Lift the ink access door.

Make sure the printhead cover is properly closed and the print carriage is not obstructed.

CAUTION:

Do not open the printhead cover.

Remove any jammed paper or other objects blocking the carriage.
