Hi @Gezza4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The information light on your HP DeskJet 2820e All-in-One Printer typically indicates that the printer requires attention. Here are steps to troubleshoot the issue.

Check the Information Light Meaning

  • Press the Information button (i) on the printer to print a diagnostic page. The page may provide details about the problem.
  • If the light is solid or blinking, consult the user manual for the specific light pattern meaning.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on. This often clears temporary glitches.

Check the Ink Levels

  • Ensure that both ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.
  • If either cartridge is low or missing, replace it with a compatible cartridge.

Clear Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or debris inside.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damaging the printer.

Ensure Proper Connectivity

  • USB Connection: Verify the cable is securely connected to the printer and computer.
  • Wireless Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network. Use the HP Smart app to reconnect if needed.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report by holding the Wi-Fi and Information buttons simultaneously to diagnose network issues.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the printer on your computer using the updated drivers.

Factory Reset the Printer

  • If none of the above steps work, you can reset the printer to factory defaults:
    • Press and hold the Resume button (triangle icon) until the printer resets.

Run a Printer Self-Test

  • Use the HP Smart app to run a diagnostic test.
  • Open the app > Select your printer > Tools or Settings > Printer Diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
