HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e All-in-One Printer

While working in Cricut Design Space I will select print then cut. The printer picks up sticker vinyl paper or paper to print, but it feeds it through the printer without printing anything.

Help please!

Hi @CB5355,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there could be a few potential issues causing your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e printer to not print properly with Cricut's Print Then Cut feature. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Settings in Cricut Design Space

Software Compatibility: Ensure that Cricut Design Space is fully compatible with your operating system and printer model. Sometimes updates to either Cricut Design Space or printer firmware can affect compatibility.

Page Setup: Verify that the correct printer is selected in Cricut Design Space. Go to the "Print then Cut" settings and ensure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e is chosen as the printer.

Paper Type and Size: Make sure that the paper type (e.g., sticker vinyl, regular paper) and size (letter, A4, etc.) selected in Cricut Design Space match the paper loaded in your printer.

2. Check Printer Hardware

Paper Loading: Ensure that the sticker vinyl or paper is loaded correctly in the printer's input tray. Improper loading can cause printing issues.

Paper Condition: Check the condition of the paper or sticker vinyl. Ensure that the paper is not curled or damaged, as this can prevent proper feeding and printing.

3. Printer Settings and Firmware

Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve printer performance.

Printer Drivers: Verify that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing problems.

4. Test Print

  • Print a Test Page: Print a test page from your computer to see if the printer is able to print correctly outside of Cricut Design Space. This helps determine if the issue is specific to Cricut Design Space or if there's a broader problem with the printer setup.

5. Restart and Reset

Restart Devices: Restart both your computer and the HP OfficeJet Pro 8034e printer. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary communication issues.

Reset Printer: If the problem persists, you may consider resetting your printer to its factory default settings. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

6. Check for Updates

  • Cricut Design Space Updates: Ensure that Cricut Design Space is up to date. Check for any available updates through the Cricut Design Space app or website.

Additional Tips:

Clear Cache: In Cricut Design Space, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can sometimes resolve issues related to printing.

Check Internet Connection: A stable internet connection is required for some features of Cricut Design Space. Ensure that your internet connection is working properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
