@alisadiq, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Smart Tank 581 which is always on busy!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your new HP Smart Tank 581 won’t print and keeps showing as busy. Let’s try to figure this out together!
Here are a few steps you can try to get it working:
Restart the Printer and Computer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Shut down your computer as well.
- After about 60 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it on, then restart your computer.
Check Printer Status and Connection
- Make sure the printer is connected properly to your Wi-Fi or computer via USB.
- If you’re using Wi-Fi, try reconnecting the printer to the network through the HP Smart app.
Clear Print Queue
- On your computer, go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on the HP Smart Tank 581 → See what's printing.
- If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them all.
Update Printer Drivers
- Open the HP Smart app or visit the HP website to check for the latest drivers and firmware updates.
- Download and install any available updates.
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- You can download this tool from the HP website. It will help diagnose and fix common printing issues automatically.
Give these steps a try and let me know if it works! If the issue persists, we can troubleshoot further. 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
