Hi @vannybunny ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 610 Series printer is not feeding the paper properly, there could be several reasons for this issue.
Here's a troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the problem:
- Check paper size and type: Ensure that the paper you're using matches the size and type settings configured on the printer. If you're using calling cards, they might not be recognized by the printer as a supported paper type. Try using standard letter or A4 size paper to see if the printer feeds it correctly.
- Load the paper properly: Make sure you're loading the paper into the input tray correctly. Improperly loaded paper can cause feeding issues. Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the paper stack.
- Clean the paper feed rollers: Over time, dust, paper fibers, and other debris can accumulate on the paper feed rollers, leading to feeding problems. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the rollers. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on accessing the rollers.
- Reset the printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve minor printer functionality issues. Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, wait for a few minutes, reconnect the power cord, and turn on the printer.
- Update printer firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can address issues like paper feeding problems. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the printer for any obstructions, such as torn paper bits or foreign objects, blocking the paper path. Remove any obstructions you find.
- Adjust paper settings: If your printer has manual paper settings, such as paper thickness or weight, try adjusting these settings to see if they improve paper feeding.
