Product: HP Smart Tank 615 Wireless All-in-One

My printer keeps pausing new print jobs; I can unpause (play) it, but it pauses again.  

 

I can print test pages to it without problems.

 

I am on MacOS 14.5 (23F79).

If your HP Smart Tank 615 printer keeps pausing print jobs on macOS 14.5, but you can print test pages without issues, there could be a few different factors at play. Here’s a comprehensive guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer and System Status

Verify Printer Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to your network or computer. A weak or unstable connection might cause print jobs to pause.

Update macOS and Printer Software:

  • Ensure you are running the latest version of macOS and that your HP printer drivers and software are up-to-date.

2. Restart Devices

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, wait about 60 seconds, and then turn it back on.

Restart Your Mac:

  • Restart your Mac to clear any temporary glitches that might be affecting printer functionality.

3. Check Printer Queue

Open Printer Queue:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank 615 and click Open Print Queue.

Manage Print Jobs:
