HP Smart Tank 7000, locks up, requires power reset

Purchased the new HP Smart Tank 7000 at BestBuy, only to discover according to HP, the warranty expired before my purchase date!

Anyway, it locks up on simple copy functions and has to be power reset, several times a week. I.e. pull out the power plug.

Have run many HP diagnostics, firmware update, Windows drivers, etc.

I understand that your printer locks up, I am glad to assist you.

Perform a power reset , Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet and printer without any surge protector.
6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

First, I ensured the firmware was up-to-date.

Then I did a reset to factory defaults.

I'll know in a few days if this helped.....
