HP Smart Tank 5107 All-in-One Printer

I bought an HP Smart tank 5107 printer last month (July).
And I am very dissatisfied with this product.

First, HP website says my warranty is still valid for 9 months. This is not in accordance with Dutch law. Let alone that the printer itself states that I have a 3-year warranty.

In addition, I have never purchased a product that just hardly ever works.
All lights and icons actually blink constantly, I managed to print a paper 4 times in a month, all in the first week, after that it can only do 1 thing. Hectic with lights flashing.

I have tried all possible debugging tools from HP, virtual assistants, HP Smart, troubleshooters, various youtube videos...and nothing helped.
Furthermore, there is no paper stuck, it connects to WiFi, and the tanks are filled with ink.

I'm a computer programmer in daily life, so I'm not quite a computer geek...

So who oh who from HP can help me further?
Or else where can I return this product..

Hi @gbr_ooxo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When all lights on your HP Smart Tank 5107 printer are blinking, it usually indicates a hardware or software issue that needs troubleshooting. Here are some steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem:

  • Check for Paper Jams: Open all access doors and check for any paper jams. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
  • Check Ink Levels: Make sure the ink tanks have enough ink. If any of the tanks are empty, replace them with genuine HP ink cartridges.
  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and see if the issue is resolved.
  • Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve hardware issues.
  • Reset the Printer: If the issue persists, you can try resetting the printer to its default settings. This can usually be done through the printer's menu settings. Refer to your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to reset it.
  • Check for Connectivity Issues: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, make sure it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and has a strong signal.
  • Check for Error Codes: Look for any error codes or messages on the printer's display panel. These can provide clues about the specific issue.
  • Reinstall Printer Software: If you're experiencing issues while trying to print from your computer, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software and drivers. Make sure you're using the latest drivers from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
