Every time I'm trying to print I have to wait while 1st page is done and printer stuck on page 2 with E2 error.

I'm pressing button with arrow on the page and printing goes on.

But why I cannot send job to printer and walk away. I have to spend a time to watch if printer feeling fine............ So sad! My old HP was without this feature.

Hello,

 

When the E2 error is displayed on the printer's control panel or on the computer screen, this indicates that the paper settings and the paper loaded in the input tray do not match.

 

The paper size loaded in the input tray does not match the paper size set in the paper settings.

  • Press the Cancel () button on the printer control panel, load the appropriate paper or change the paper size in the software, and then restart the print job. For more information, see HP print settings guide.

If in the following steps you do not find what is titled, please just skip this part.

If the issue continues, please uninstall and reinstall the printer as follows:
1. Uninstall printing software:

  1. Unplug the USB cable at the back of the printer, if necessary.
  2. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  3. Type appwiz.cpl, then OK. The Programs and Features window opens.
  4. Click the right mouse button on HP Smart Tank 510 series Basic Software, then Uninstall and Yes.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstall of the printer.
  6. Restart the computer.

2. Launch the registry editor:

  1. On the keyboard, simultaneously tap the Windows flag and the R key. The Run window opens.
  2. Type regedit, then OK. The registry editor opens.
  3. Develop HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, click with the right mouse button on Hewlett-Packard and Delete. (If the PC is HP-branded, develop Hewlett-Packard and remove Digital Imaging)

3. Delete the HP Smart Tank 510 series folder in the way:

  • C: \Program Files\HP
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HP

4. Rename folder 3 in 3_old in the path below (a restart may be required):

  • C:\Windows\System32\spool-drivers\x64.
  • C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86.

NOTE: If the file refuses this action do as follows:

  • On the keyboard, tap the Windows and X keys simultaneously.
  • Click Command Prompt (admin) or Windows PowerShell (admin), then click Yes.
  • Type net stop spooler, then press Enter key.
  • Rename the file.
  • Type net start spooler, then press Enter key.

5. Launch a new printer installation with the HP Smart Tank 510 Wireless All-in-One series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
