I uninstalled HP Support Assistant because it won't update my printer firmware. It gives me notice of message telling me to update the firmware. But when I do that, it gives me red text saying another HP SA is running and I can't figure out what to do to get it to work. Suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Community --

The HPSA app might not be able to discern whether or how to install printer firmware --

What?

HPSA is not always to best tool for installing firmware updates on the printer.

How-to

Update the firmware on an HP printer

Manual Update - General Information

Open your printer's  Product Home - Printers

Open Category Software & Drivers

If necessary change the Operating System / version

Use "Open all" (or similar) to open the list the available software

Scroll down -- Look for -- and If found,

Open the sub-category for Firmware

Open that section > Look for a listed Firmware Update > If found, open the Details

Check whether the version of the current firmware is newer than the version installed on the printer.

If the installation package version is newer, then you can download the package to your computer and install the firmware for your printer.
