I've used this printer a grand total of four times before I got an error message indicating that the print cartridge was out of ink (at least I thought that's what the flashing amber light meant). I bought a new cartridge, installed it correctly and the amber light is still flashing (thus no printing). I have followed every single step I've found in the HP troubleshooting guides (pressing "I" button - nothing prints, cleaning, turning off and on, unplugging from wall, etc., etc.), but regardless, nothing fixes it, thus I cannot use the printer. Despite only using the printer a handful of times, it's out of warranty because I bought it last year, and rarely use it. Is there anyway to fix this or should I just dump this printer after virtually no usage along with my new pricey ink cartridge? My neighbor's getting sick of printing things for me :). Thank you for any help you can provide.

I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this issue. 

 

The large bar flashing Amber means the printer has failed. Kindly refer to this document - Blinking Lights

Perform the steps mentioned.

 

If the error persists, please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
