Hello, I have a defective yellow HP toner cartridge and am having a hard time finding how to get warranty help at HP's site.
I opened it out of it's sealed box, opened the sealed bubble bag, removed the packing (orange plastic plate and tape sticker), inserted it into my printer. The printer kept saying "Remove Shipping Lock from Yellow Cartridge". I removed it, shook it, replaced it - the error kept coming on. I put another new yellow cartridge in and everything is fine with that one, so this cartridge is defective. Now that it's out and sitting on my table, I am noticing that it's also leaking yellow powder from one end.
How do I return to HP for a warranty replacement? The cartridge is brand new and has not even printed 1 page. I cannot return to the original place of purchase because I do not have a receipt.
Thank you,
Gina

The solution was to call 800-HP-INVENT - you had to get through a lot of prompts (of which toner warranty is not one), but choose PRINTER for the item you have the issue with and your printer model # to get to a rep who can help with toner warranty. They had me send a proof of purchase and photos of the damaged toner and then overnighted me a new one.
Thank you,
