Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 PC's, both Win10 V1903 up to date. One Home and one Pro Version.

The Pro version has no problem. Open the HP Printer Assistant and see on the top the the Ink Levels. Click on that and the Toolbox opens.

The Home version, different story. Now both PC's had the s/w loaded at the same time. Both (had) as an icon a Printer. On the Home version however the Ink Level's did NOT show? So I uninstalled all the s/w and get them fresh from HP's d/l area for the printer (full version). It doesn't have a Printer icon but a Blue circle with 'hp' in it on the desktop. Not a problem as it opens to the same  screen as the Pro PC. It does show the ink level, but clicking on it produces "HP Toolbox 0x83e8e8fc error"

Why would it work in Pro and not Home versions? I'll assume it isn't the printer then?

I have as I said, uninstalled and reinstalled everything?

I've seen many ways and reports on a Google Search. None seem to help me?

Suggestions?

All other features DO work on the Printer for me.

Only odd thing is for scanning, I see two and the last one I have to use. Somehow the first one wasn't removed...

Wouldn't think would have anything to do with this?

Well, I might have fixed this?

I started looking in the Registry and I discovered some bad pointers. Some for my 2 older HP Printers I do not have now.

So I ran this "Get-Printer | Format-List Name" in Powershell and they were there. So I felt it was save to remove those entries. Checked the command again after removing those entries in the Registry and they were then gone. Guess the old uninstalls for those printer (HP5520 and HP3800) didn't do a good job (but I suspect having them in the Registry did no harm either).

I then again UNINSTALLED all 7800 s/w. Next cleaned out in the registry those associated data that remained in the Registry (backup made first) as well. Next removed any (NET) #2 found.

Reinstalled the complete 7800 install file and it all worked. Also did find 2 SCANTOPC's with one being for (NET) #2. I had 2 RUN entries for the file. Sound the one associated in the Registry for #2 and deleted that.

Don't know what went wrong or why?

No longer have or need to Blue HP icon, but have the same black printer All-in-One icon that is on the Pro PC.
