Troubleshooting HP Deskjet 2620 Series: Stuck Lights Issue

If your HP Deskjet 2620 Series printer is not starting and is showing three lights stuck on, it indicates an issue that needs troubleshooting. Here's a guide to resolving this problem:

Steps to Resolve Stuck Lights Issue:

  1. Reset the Printer:

    • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the outlet.
    • Wait 60 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord.
    • Turn the printer back on to see if the lights issue is resolved.
  2. Check for Paper Jams:

    • Open the input and output trays and check if there is any paper stuck inside.
    • Remove any jammed paper gently to avoid tearing.
    • Ensure the rear access door is properly closed and secured.
  3. Check Ink Cartridges:

    • Open the cartridge access door and ensure that the ink cartridges are properly seated in their slots.
    • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are making proper contact.
  4. Check Tray and Paper:

    • Ensure there is paper loaded correctly in the input tray.
    • Adjust the paper width guides so they fit snugly against the paper.
  5. Verify Connections:

    • Ensure all cable connections to the printer, including the power and USB cables, are secure.
    • If using wireless, ensure that the network connection is stable.
  6. Firmware Update:

    • Check for any available firmware updates for your printer model by visiting the HP Support or HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
    • Follow the instructions for downloading and installing any updates.
  7. Perform a Printer Reset:

    • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Wait several minutes, reconnect the power cord, and turn on the printer.

If after these troubleshooting steps the issue persists, you may need to contact HP Customer Support for further assistance or service.
