Hp envy 5540 is not printing colours correctly after replacing the colour ink cartridge. I have cleaned the cartridges/nozzles and printed test pages. I have did this both from my pc and the printer itself so I know its not just my pc. Colours are printing too dark/off colour.

Hi Emma4444,

 

The first question that comes to my mind is what Cartridge did you install (I'm assuming that the colors are dark even on the print quality test page)?  Was it a genuine HP Ink Cartridge?  Specifically for the HP Envy 5540 printer it should be an HP 62 or HP 62XL cartridge for the color.  If it is the correct HP genuine cartridge, then check the warranty end date for the cartridge to see if the cartridge is old, see Ink Cartridge and Printhead Limited Warranty for where to find the warranty end date on the cartridge.  If it is old you may need to replace it with a new cartridge.
