I am helping my boss set up the HP Envy 7164 but he was not given the setup cartridge. How do we bypass that error?

Hello,

I'd suggest you to call HP Tech Support ( contact number is provided on the box ) and obtain setup cartridges.

However kindly double check in the box thoroughly. Its most unlikely that the setup cartridges would be missing.

He doesn't have the box- can you give me the tech support number please?

Hello,

I hope you got the cartridges installed in your printer, if not, you may need to first purchase the same from store. If you are in USA, then buy HP 64, below is the url

https://learn-about-supplies.ext.hp.com/?utm_source=mysupplies&utm_medium=HP&utm_campaign=mysup   .

Now install the purchased cartridges, you'd still see the same error.

Look out for video using the below URL and try the steps as suggested. Let me know if that fixed the problem.

Thank you very much for all your help... I really do appreciate it. Unfortunately that did not work. Under the "system cofiguration menu" you only have the option of setting boot mode to user mode. And it still asks for the setup cartridge

Check under "Support Menu > Reset > Trade OOBE" .

under "resets menu" the options are "country/language" "Partial Reset" and "semi-full reset".  Which neither has the trade oob setting.

Hello,

Let me know if you were able to contact HP Tech Support and got the issue fixed.

If no, then email me the product number ( P/N ) located at the back of the printer by clicking on the Envelope icon  on the top right of this window.  .
