Hi I am having problems with and office jet pro 6970 using Instant ink. The printer is approaching 6 months old and I have just installed my second set of Instant ink cartridges. First set gave no issues, but this new set will print a few pages correctly and then start to produce quality issues in one or more colours. If the printer is left for a few days without use it often will fail to print 1 or more colours completely. Today for example it would not print any black until I did a full 3 stage print head clean. This has been the pattern a full print head clean sorts out the issue for a while then it comes back. As a result of all the test pages I have gone over plan print quota for this month. The printer is situated in a home office, It is a clean area, not abnormaly dusty etc.
Things I have tried so far:
- I am using genuine instant ink cartitrdiges supplied via HP
- Ink levels are showing at 50% for red. cyan and yellow and 75% for black, but this problem was also occurring when levels where 100%
- I have examined the vent area in each cartridge there is no obvious residue from sticky labels or anything blocking.
- re seated all cartridges correctly
- I have cleanded the print heads lots of times, this fixes the problem for a while but then it comes back.
How do I request a replacement set of cartridges, Is it possible there is a fault with this set, seems unlikely as it has happened randomly to all 4 colours.
Any help much appreciated.
