I'm currently experiencing issues with a constant "error state" message when printing. Sometimes it will still print, but it will print multiple pages of the same thing, while not printing others at all in the same document. I tried the fix detailed in the thread and got to the page where I manually configure the IP address. After entering all of the new numbers and clicking apply, I'm getting an error message that is asking me to correct the boxes in red, the Manual Default Gateway in this case, which says it's out of range. Please advise.

Thank you!

@Kelavamama,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

Do you get any error code on the printer screen? or do you get a blue screen on the control panel?

Is the printer on a wired connection or a wireless connection?

Follow the below steps to get the correct configuration details of your network.

For Windows PC:

  1. Press 'Windows' key + 'R' key.
  2. A dialogue box called "Run" appears on the screen.
  3. Type cmd in the dialogue box & click OK.
  4. In the following screen type "ipconfig" and hit the return key. It displays your network configuration like IP address, default gateway etc.

For a MAC PC:

  1. click on the apple icon.
  2. select "system preferences".
  3. select "Network"
  4. Select your Connected internet connection from the left-hand column. This may be the Ethernet section if you're connected via Ethernet cable, or the Wi-Fi section if you're connected via WiFi.
  5. Wi-Fi: Click Advanced in the bottom right-hand corner of the window, and then select the TCP/IP tab. You'll find the default gateway address listed next to Router.

Let me know if this helps.

Cheers!
