Hi @GrandH2315 ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're having trouble setting up your HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 ePrinter on a different Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure that the Wi-Fi network you are connecting to is working properly.
- Verify that the printer is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.
Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 20-30 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Factory Reset:
- If the issue persists, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer to clear any existing network settings.
- Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This is often done by holding down specific buttons on the printer for a certain duration.
Reconfigure Wi-Fi Settings:
- After the factory reset, reconfigure the Wi-Fi settings on the printer. This typically involves accessing the printer's menu and entering the Wi-Fi network information.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on the printer's display or refer to the user manual for detailed steps.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
- Visit the official HP website, navigate to the support section, and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
HP Smart App:
- Ensure that you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your mobile device.
- Open the HP Smart app and try adding the printer again. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Network Security:
- Check if there are any security settings on the Wi-Fi network that might be preventing the printer from connecting. Ensure that the network allows for printer connections.
HP Smart Dashboard:
- If the HP Smart Dashboard is showing the printer as offline, try refreshing the dashboard or logging out and logging back into your HP account within the app.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
