Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
1. Check for Printer Errors:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 1-2 minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the error message disappears.
2. Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer’s ink cartridge access door.
- Look for any paper jams or bits of paper stuck in the rollers.
- Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damage.
3. Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure all ink cartridges are properly seated.
- Remove and then reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they're in place.
- If any cartridge appears damaged or empty, replace it with a new one.
4. Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and also from the power outlet.
- Wait for about 1-2 minutes.
- Plug the power cord back in, turn the printer on, and check if the issue is resolved.

5. Clean the Ink Cartridges and Printhead:
- If your printer has a printhead cleaning feature, run it via the printer’s control panel or the HP printer software on your computer.
- If the issue persists, you may need to clean the printhead manually. Check your printer’s user manual for instructions on how to do so safely.
6. Check the Printer's Firmware and Drivers:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. If needed, visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware.
- Check for any available driver updates for your printer and install them.
7. Perform a Printer Diagnostic Test:
- Run a diagnostic check on the printer via the printer's display panel or through the HP printer software on your computer.
- If there are any errors identified, follow the on-screen prompts to resolve them.
8. Check the Printer’s Ink System:
- Open the printer's access door and check the ink system for any obvious signs of malfunction, like ink leakage or damage to the printhead.
- If you see anything unusual, clean the components.
9. Try a System Reset (Restore Factory Settings):
- This can be done via the printer’s control panel (refer to the printer’s manual).
- Restoring factory settings can clear any corrupted settings that might be causing the error.
10. Check for External Interference:
- Ensure the printer is connected to a stable power source. If you're using a power strip, try plugging the printer directly into the wall outlet.
- Remove any other devices or electronics that might be interfering with the printer.
