Hello,

my HP printer 4155 has solid lights such as the resume, information, and ink light is solid but the printer will not power on. I have attempted to reset it numerous times and have reached no resolution. It is not responding to any buttons being touched or held down.

Hi @Nickole173

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

If your HP printer (4155) has solid lights indicating an issue but will not power on or respond, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check Power Connection

  • Power Source: Ensure the printer is plugged into a working power outlet. Try a different outlet if necessary.
  • Power Cable: Check the power cable for any damage. If possible, try using a different power cable that is compatible with the printer.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Unplug the Printer: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait: Leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer, then try turning it on.

3. Inspect the Power Button

  • Ensure that the power button isn’t stuck or damaged. Sometimes, debris can prevent it from functioning properly.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

If you can get the printer to turn on, check for any firmware updates. However, since your printer is not responding, this step can be skipped for now.

5. Remove and Reinsert Ink Cartridges

  • If the printer is somewhat responsive but won’t turn on completely, try removing and then reinserting the ink cartridges. Sometimes, a cartridge issue can cause the printer not to start.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
