Hi @keri924

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer keeps printing a page with the message "get /devmgmt/discoverytree.xml http/1.1 host," it may indicate a communication issue between your printer and your network or device. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Restart the Printer and Router

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plugging it back in.
  • Once the router is back online, plug the printer back in and turn it on.

2. Check Network Connection

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Use the printer's control panel to verify the connection.
  • If using a wired connection, check that the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check this through the HP Smart app or on the HP website.

4. Reset Network Settings

  • If the problem persists, consider resetting the printer's network settings:
    • Go to the printer’s control panel.
    • Navigate to the Network or Wireless settings and look for an option to restore network defaults.

5. Reconfigure Printer on Network

  • After resetting the network settings, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network:
    • Use the printer’s control panel to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

6. Check for Multiple IP Addresses

  • If your printer has an IP address conflict, it may be trying to communicate with an incorrect address. Check the printer's IP address from the control panel and make sure it’s unique on your network.

7. Disable Web Services

  • If your printer has web services enabled, consider disabling them temporarily to see if that resolves the issue:
    • Go to Printer Settings > Web Services and disable them.

8. Factory Reset the Printer

  • If all else fails, you may want to perform a factory reset on your printer. Check the printer’s manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
