I have a HP Smart Tank 581 All in One printer. It was working fine for almost 9months and today I am getting an E7 error. I searched and found that it is for low ink error but my ink tanks are full.

@Manas_2002, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

The E7 error on your HP Smart Tank 581 All-in-One printer is typically an indicator of low ink. However, if your ink tanks are already full, the error may be due to other factors such as ink sensor issues or incorrect sensor readings. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the E7 error:

Steps to Fix the E7 Error:

Check Ink Tank Levels:

  • Verify that the ink levels in the tanks are actually full. Sometimes the error might be caused by incorrect readings.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Clean the Ink Sensor:

  • Sometimes, the ink sensor might be dirty or blocked. Open the ink tank covers and inspect the sensors. Gently clean any ink residue or dust with a lint-free cloth.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates via the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

Perform a Test Print:

  • After checking the ink levels and cleaning the sensor, perform a test print to see if the error persists.

Re-seat Ink Cartridges:

  • If your model includes ink cartridges, ensure they are correctly seated in their slots.

Hey @Manas_2002,

Thank you for your response

Kindly check the following:

Error E7

One or more ink tanks are out of ink.

Open the front door and ink tank cap.

Open the ink bottle, place it upside down on the tank, and click into place.

Wait for the ink to fill the tank.

Close the bottle cap, tank cap, and the front door.

I hope this helps.
