On Dec. 30, 2022, an HP Support Agent told me that a technician would call me within 24 to 48 hours to set an appointment to visit my house to fix or replace my defective HP printer that I paid $720 for. It has been 5 days. Why hasn't HP bothered to call me? Should I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau? I doubt HP cares one one or the other. Whatever.

Not sure why HP has not followed up, but this model clearly has a one year onsite warranty. Have you tried to follow up from your end? I know you should not have to but things happen. I have escalated your post as well to the moderators in hopes they can assist you. You could also use the HP partner locator to find a service provider near you? Does the vendor you bought the device from not provide support or did you buy direct from HP?
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

Over a two day period I spent about 8 cumulative hours troubleshooting this printer. The time spent was a one hour chat then a three hour chat - and, lots of internet searches - desperately trying to get my $720 printer to work. The printer is defective - colors are horribly misaligned. A $50 printer would look better - and that is no exaggeration. Today, (day 5) I was in chat for over an hour (so 9 cumulative hours now) - but no one answered. Then, I just called HP support using my phone and got through to a real human. I told the representative over the phone that I had expected a call from the technician days ago - HP Chat told me the tech would call to schedule an appointment, but I never got a call. The HP Support guy over the phone told me that HP Support Chat is a different department and therefore he knew nothing about that. He then attempted to get me to begin troubleshooting the printer. I said no. I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to 'fix' this godforsaken pile of junk that I spent $720 on. No one in their right mind would spend $720 and then spend the next 5 days working as a technician for free troubleshooting a defective printer. I say "defective" because this is clearly beyond basic or common setup issue encounter during the process of installing a new printer. I'm returning this before the end of the week. I bought the printer from Amazon and their customer support isn't anywhere near as inept as HP. Screw HP. I'll never buy an HP printer again.
