I have a laserjet HP1102 that is always in an error state. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing is working.
I have tried getting a new USB cable, put back the old but still cannot print. Please kindly assist.

Hi @TendaiC,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet P1102 printer is constantly in an error state despite reinstalling drivers and trying different USB cables, there are a few more steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions: Open the printer's access door and check for any paper jams or obstructions that may be causing the error. Clear any jams and ensure that the printer's paper path is clear.
Restart Printer Spooler: Sometimes, issues with the printer spooler can cause printers to go into an error state. You can try restarting the printer spooler service on your computer. Open the Run dialog (Win + R), type "services.msc", find the Print Spooler service, right-click it, and select Restart.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can automatically diagnose and resolve printing problems. Download and run this tool to see if it can identify and fix the issue with your printer.
Update Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve performance.
Check Printer Status Lights: Look at the printer's control panel for any blinking or solid lights that indicate specific error codes. Refer to the printer's user manual or HP's support website to interpret these error codes and take appropriate action.
Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer to restore it to its default settings. Keep in mind that this will erase any custom settings you've configured on the printer. Instructions for performing a factory reset can usually be found in the printer's user manual.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
