Hello,
I have a 2510 that wasn't used for a while. Yesterday I bought new ink cartridges for it (official HP, brand new), however, when I tried to print something today, I got an error message, stating that the printer had a configuration error.
It is still able to scan and copy documents, but printing from my PC won't work. It managed to print the alignment page and got through the initial setup, but that was it.
I tried uninstalling it from root, reinstalling the drivers, tried different USB cables, tried it on a different PC, and it's always the same result.
Windows 10 device manager sees it, but it appears only as a scanner, not a printer.
It was working fine this morning, as I mentioned, it managed to print the alignment page but that was all it managed to print.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

@INeedHelp666, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
If you are able to make copies on the printer, it means the hardware of the printer is working fine. This seems like a driver issue. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue
Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.
If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.
Clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers with a Win 7 compatible driver which may resolve this issue
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
- Select your HP Printer
- Select Uninstall
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
- In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
- Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
- Click on the “Drivers” tab
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
- Select Ok
- Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
- Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.
Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try printing.
Let me know how this goes.
