HP OfficeJet 4630
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As demonstrated here, my HP OfficeJet 4630 is not printing with the magenta ink - only black, cyan, and yellow - so everything comes out in shades of yellow, green, and blue.  No red, orange, pink, purple, etc.

I am using brand new HP 61 XL color cartridges.  I have tried two different cartridges. I replaced the black as well.

I have used the printer’s menu to reach “Tools” and have completed all of the functions - Clean Printhead, Align Printer, Clean Ink Smear, Printer Status Report, Print Quality Report, and Restore to Defaults.  I have removed and reinstalled both cartridges.

It appears to be a physical problem, but for kicks, I have also removed and reinstalled drivers as well as from different computers and applications.

@james00ZX, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand the printer is not printing in Magenta. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.

If you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Fixing Poor Print Quality, and if you have used more than 1 color ink cartridge but have the same results, I'm afraid the issue is with the printer.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
