My Officejet 4630 is printing blank pages. I have plenty of ink. I cleaned the heads and it printed that page fine. It also printed the alignment page with no issues. Thinking it might be a software issue, I downloaded and installed drivers. Rebooted the computer and the printer before trying to print again. Still printing blank pages.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand that the printer is printing blank pages. Need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Is copy working fine?

Are you using genuine HP ink cartridge?

However, I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Use an automated tool to clean the printhead

Follow these steps to run an automated tool to clean the ink cartridges.

   NOTE:

You might need to clean the printhead several times for optimal print quality.

   NOTE:

To avoid issues that require cleaning, always turn the printer off with the Power button.

  1. Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the paper tray.

  2. On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow  to select Tools, and then press OK.

  3. Press the Down Arrow  to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK. The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints a printhead test page.

  4. Review the print quality on the printhead test page.

  • If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
