Product: HP5255
Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

The small arm that extends to catch printed paper will not extend so printed paper falls on the floor.  Had this problem with HP5255 I purchased on 1 July, returned and got replacement, and same problem with the replacement.  Appears this is a systemic problem with the 5255, as my wife has a HP4510 and the arm extends when ever the printer is activated.   Fix for this??

It should be extended manually, those are different printers without the same functionality, see step 7:
