I have an HP6975 that is less than a Year old. Last time I printed was 2 weeks ago. Went to print last night and only white pages are coming out. Ink levels are good. Tried running the Clean Printhead option and it's not running.

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!
- Have you tried to make a copy? Does the copy work fine?
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Power Reset
- Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
- Turn the printer on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on. The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
- Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
Step 2: Try to Clean the printhead again
-
From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu.
-
Open the Printer Maintenance menu.
-
Open the Tools menu, and then touch Clean Printhead.
-
Examine the print quality, if the quality is unacceptable, proceed to clean the print head again.
-
You can run up to 3 cycles of printhead cleaning if the quality is not satisfactory.

Hello Atharva_Gp,
I am now able to print in color but not black. Black ink level is good and almost full.
- Tried Power Reset - did not correct problem
- Tried removing cartridges to check for clogged vents - did not correct problem
- I wiped crtridges with clean dry cloth - did not correct problem
What can be done. thie printer is less than a Year old. This should not be happening.

We can try clearing vents on the cartridge if they are clogged.
Follow these steps:
- Remove the ink cartridge
- Examine the vent area above the HP logo on the top of the ink cartridge.
- If the vent is clogged, use a straight pin to gently remove excess adhesive from the vent.
-
Clogged vent
-
With a straight pin, gently remove excess adhesive from the vent
-
Unclogged vent
- Reseat the ink cartridge
- Try cleaning the printhead again
Let me know what happens.
Cheers!
