Hi all,

I've seen this posted before, but here we go. I am getting the dreaded Printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed. I've unplugged it. I've reset it. I've tried to go thru HP "Smart" (ironically named), which sees my tiny 3700 printer but not this, on the same network, tried multiple times and right next to each other. Is it worth trying to track down a new printhead? I've seen on a thread that people still got the same errors. I only use this printer to print tabloid size 11x17 and it rarely gets used. So even though it's from 2018 I'm not sure why it's messing up. I have only ever used HP cartridges. Any help is appreciated!

I understand you are receiving printhead error

 

Try the below suggestions -

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

If the error persists,

  • I've sent you a private message with further instructions to get this issue sorted.

Hi, I've done all of this already multiple times. I've tried any combination of unplugging and not unplugging you can think of. I bought all new print cartridges and installed those. This is terrible. And no service. I do not have a private message. Please help.

I received the message thanks! I was able to actually contact HP. They said it's a hardware issue and nothing to be done, I need a new printhead but they don't sell it anymore. I found it on eBay and also bought a new printer in case that doesn't work. Thanks!
