OfficeJet Pro 8720
macOS 10.14 Mojave

My Officejet Pro 8720 is 18 months old.  It prints fine on standard paper, without any issues at all.

My problem is with using heavier paper/card stock.  Since I bought it, I've printed scores of sheets of heavier 220gsm card stock,  always successfully and without incident.  I never even adjusted the printer settings in any way, it just worked.  But suddenly, the printer won't print on it.  I get a paper jam at the 'back door' and the sheet has to be removed manually.  I've tried setting the paper type (via the front panel) to 'heavy paper', to no avail.

Almost inevitably, I have an important and time-sensitive job which requires outputting to this card stock - so will be grateful for any help or advice, please.  The manual doesn't specify what is the maximum weight of media for the printer - but since it has worked flawlessly with this card stock for 18 months, it can't be that it is 'too heavy'.

My printer is under warranty, with replacement cover...

Thanks.

@northumbrian, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have already performed the steps from the document Paper Jam Error and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!
