Previously had no problems, today I found my printer offline and all settings in the printer keypad are locked. Computer still sees it with IP address as offline. But printer says the function is turned off & locked. Of course I`m not sure if it`s something I may have done. But I had no reason to mess with the printer until I found it offline. Cycled printer & router several times, no joy.

Hi @BobofBowie
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 has its wireless function disabled and locked, preventing it from connecting to the network. Since your computer still recognizes the printer’s IP address but shows it as offline, the issue likely lies within the printer’s settings.
Here’s how to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the wireless function is still locked.
2. Restore Network Settings to Factory Defaults
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup.
- Select Restore Network Settings and confirm.
- Try reconnecting the printer to Wi-Fi.
3. Re-enable Wireless Function
- If the wireless function is locked, go to Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Ensure Wireless is enabled.
- If locked, try resetting the printer to factory defaults.
4. Use HP Smart App for Setup
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Select Set up a new printer and follow the on-screen instructions.
Try these steps and let me know if the issue persists!

Hi again Hawks,
I did all that and more from prior advice I found around the net several times prior to posting here. As all of the answers were the same and ineffective & knowing I had done nothing to cause this. I came to the realization the printer after 5 years had failed, As weird as that may sound as a symptom of failure nothing worked because after all the resets all the functions remained locked. I replaced the printer with a newer version HPAIO. Had zero issues with setup and I`m back in business. So as it turns out my suspicion was right.
I do appreciate your time & assistance.

Hi @BobofBowie,
Thank you for following up, and I appreciate you sharing the resolution.
It doesn’t sound weird at all — in fact, what you experienced (a printer locking out multiple core functions despite all signs of being “connected”) can indicate internal firmware or hardware failure, especially after several years of regular use. When basic operations like copying or factory resetting stop working and persist after clean reinstalls and reboots, replacement is often the most practical path forward.
I'm really glad to hear your new HP All-in-One is working smoothly and that you're back up and running without any issues!
