HP ENVY 7645 won't print color without streaks. Printheads have been cleaned and alignment done.

Hi @Ryan734,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand printing in streaks is often related to clogged printheads, low ink levels, or alignment issues, despite your initial troubleshooting. Here’s a step-by-step guide to address the issue further:

1. Verify Ink Levels

  • Ensure the ink cartridges, especially the color ones, have sufficient ink.
  • Replace any cartridges that are low or depleted.

2. Perform a Deep Cleaning

Even though you've cleaned the printheads, performing a deep cleaning may remove persistent clogs:

  1. Open the HP Smart app or your printer software on your computer.
  2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printheads.
  3. Choose the Advanced/Deep Cleaning option (if available).

3. Check Cartridge Quality

  • Use only genuine HP cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges can cause streaking or other issues.
  • Remove the color cartridge, check for damage, and clean the electrical contacts gently with a lint-free cloth.

4. Print a Diagnostic Page

This step can help pinpoint the problem:

  1. Go to the Settings menu on the printer or HP Smart app.
  2. Select Print Quality Report or Diagnostic Page.
  3. Look for missing lines, streaks, or color inconsistencies.

If defects are present, it confirms a printhead issue.

5. Reseat the Printhead

  1. Open the printer cover and wait for the printhead to move to the center.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges.
  3. Lift the latch holding the printhead and gently remove it.
  4. Reinsert the printhead and secure the latch.
  5. Reinstall the ink cartridges.

6. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

  1. Uninstall the current driver:
    • Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click the printer > Remove Device.
  2. Download the latest driver for your printer from the HP Support website.
  3. Install and reconnect the printer.

7. Perform a Factory Reset

If the issue persists:

  1. Access the printer's Settings menu.
  2. Navigate to Tools > Restore Defaults.
  3. Reconfigure the printer.

8. Replace the Printhead (If Necessary)

If none of the above resolves the issue, the printhead might be damaged.
