@Bill724, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're facing a connectivity or configuration issue with your HP Envy Inspire 7900e printer on macOS Ventura. Here are some steps to troubleshoot the "Printer Cannot Print" error:

Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the correct wireless network.
  • If possible, try printing directly from the printer’s control panel (not via the Mac) to confirm it is functioning properly.

Restart Devices

  • Power off the printer and your Mac.
  • Restart your router to ensure there are no network issues.

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi

  • Go to the printer's settings, select "Wireless Setup Wizard," and re-enter your Wi-Fi details to reconnect it to the network.

Reset the Printer

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Network Settings. This will reset the network settings and allow you to reconnect the printer.

Check the Print Queue

  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and open the print queue. If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them and try printing again.

Remove and Re-add Printer

  • In System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, click the minus sign to remove it, then click the plus sign to add it back. Make sure to select the correct printer from the list.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the printer and select Reset Printing System. This will remove all printers from the list.
  • Re-add the printer, and macOS should automatically download the latest drivers.

Update macOS and Printer Firmware

  • Make sure you’re running the latest version of macOS Ventura. Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Software Update.
  • Also, check for any firmware updates for your printer through the HP Smart app or the printer's website.

Use the HP Smart App

  • If you haven't already, try downloading the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store and setting up the printer through it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
